July 11, 2024
Greenthumb Lawn Service will be performing broadleaf management practices on Saturday, July 15, 2024 at Bangor High School, Cameron Stadium, and Mary Snow School. In the event of rain, the work will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 16, 2024.
These management practices are designed to control the growth of broadleaf weeds in lawns and landscapes. Greenthumb's licensed and trained professionals will be selectively applying EPA-approved herbicides to target undesirable broadleaf plants while minimizing impacts to desirable grasses and other vegetation on our athletic fields and playgrounds.
The work is expected to take place between 8 AM and 5 PM on the scheduled dates. While all necessary measures will be taken to prevent direct exposure to treated areas, we kindly request that citizens and their pets avoid school grounds during the application period. Signs will be posted in prominent locations to indicate the treated areas, and we ask for your cooperation in respecting these boundaries.
We understand that some individuals may have concerns about the use of weed control products. Rest assured that we have taken every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and the community. The products used by Greenthumb are approved and certified for use in educational institutions, and they follow industry best practices to minimize any potential impact on the environment.
We value the health and safety of our community and remain committed to providing a conducive learning environment for our students. If you have any questions or require further information about the fertilization and pest treatment schedule, please do not hesitate to contact your school principal.
